This project stretches the boundaries between alternative housing and occupation, which combines the focus on a group of squatters who were occupying a cafe in Islington for residential and charity purposes. The design goal after studying the needs of the group, was to enable them to make better use of the space through a series of accessibility components that remained hidden or camouflaged to the passer-by but allowed the roof of the connecting buildings to become an extension of the cafe, an alternative street.
